Prasad's Chai

Yield: four 6 oz. cups of tea

Ingredients

  • 3 c. water
  • ¼ inch sliced fresh ginger
  • 4 to 6 cardamom pods, opened
  • ¼ tsp. aniseed
  • 4 tsp. of Red label tea powder, or 5 regular tea bags
  • 1 c. 2% milk (more or less, to taste)
  • sugar, to taste

Directions

  • Boil the water.
  • Add ginger, cardamom, aniseed, and tea powder/bags
  • Boil for two minutes.
  • Add milk.
  • Heat over medium heat until desired drinking temperature.
  • Strain and pour. Add sugar to taste.
