Ingredients

  • ½ gal. milk
  • 1 ½ c. sugar
  • 1 T. cornstarch
  • 8 eggs, seperated
  • 1 ½ T. vanilla
  • ½ t. lemon juice

Directions

  • In a pan, mix the milk, sugar, and cornstarch. Add the egg yolks one at a time and mix.
  • Cook over medium-low heat until the mixture thickens. Remove from heat and let cool.
  • Add the vanilla and lemon juice. Mix.
  • Beat the egg whites in a separate bowl and stir into the mixture.
  • Serve cold. Keep refrigerated.
