Yield: two small (10”) deep-dish, or two medium (14”) thin

Rating: 4 of 5 - simple, good

Ingredients

Wet part:

  • ½ c. warm (not hot) water, about 120 degrees F
  • 1 T. olive oil
  • 1 T. honey
  • 1 pkg. fast-acting (quick-rise) yeast

Dry part:

  • ¾ c. bread flour
  • ¾ c. all-purpose flour
  • ½ tsp. salt
  • ½ tsp. garlic powder
  • ½ tsp. onion powder

Directions

Wet part:

  • Combine water, oil, honey, and yeast in a small bowl. Let sit for five minutes, following the directions below as you wait.

Dry part:

  • Sift together flours, salt, garlic powder, and onion powder.
  • Add the yeast solution, mixing into a doughy ball. Knead.
  • Punch down dough and divide in half.
  • On a well-floured surface, roll out dough to desired thickness.
  • Place in lightly-greased pizza pan. Pinch or roll up the edge of the crust, if desired.
  • Let sit ten or fifteen minutes to rise.
  • Top with sauce, cheese, and toppings.
  • Cook for 450 degrees F to 10 to 12 minutes, or until just beginning to brown.
  • Remove from heat and let stand at least five minutes before slicing.
