Mamiya C220, 180mm f/4.5 Super (black), E100S, 80A filter, long exposure (over 60 sec, if I recall)
Taken at about two A.M. on a dark summer night beneath a street lamp in the CRC, I had to lay on my back under my tripod in the middle of a road to get this. Given that the road has some light traffic even at that hour and the twelve frames I took each had exposures in the range of a minute, 'twas no small feat of patience. I computed the reciprocity failure correction in my head and counted out the seconds "one dirty dog, two dirty dogs, three...". I got lucky. The filter mostly corrected the lamp colors and pushed the grayish sky to a deep blue. I had a hunch.
(Despite the odd colors and strange contrast, only a bare minimum of editing was done on this image: I "curved" out a bit of lens flare in the sky, trimmed the levels, and USM'ed it. That's it.)
